Named after the British anatomist Edward Kent, who first described it in the 19th century, the Bundle of Kent is a crucial component of the electrical conduction system of the heart.
Functionally, the Bundle of Kent serves to bypass the normal pathway of electrical signals within the AV node, thereby facilitating the coordinated contraction of the heart's atria and ventricles.
