Orgone is a term coined by Austrian psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich in the 1930s to describe a theoretical substance that he believed to be fundamental to the existence of life and vital energy. According to Reich, orgone is an omnipresent, cosmic energy that permeates everything in the universe. He proposed that orgone energy is a primordial force that is responsible for all physical and psychological processes, including emotions, sexuality, and consciousness.
Reich believed that orgone energy can be either positive (known as "positive orgone energy" or "POR") or negative (known as "deadly orgone energy" or "DOR"). Positive orgone energy is said to contribute to health, vitality, and general well-being, while negative orgone energy is thought to be stagnant and harmful.
In order to harness and manipulate orgone energy, Reich developed various devices called "orgone accumulators." These accumulators consist of alternating layers of organic and inorganic materials, such as metal and organic matter like cotton or wool, which are believed to attract and concentrate orgone energy. Reich claimed that sitting in an orgone accumulator could have numerous health benefits, including increased energy, improved immune function, and relief from various physical and mental ailments.
While Reich's theories and claims about orgone energy have been highly controversial and heavily criticized by mainstream science, some individuals and alternative medicine practitioners continue to believe in the existence and therapeutic potential of orgone energy. Its conceptualization remains primarily within the realm of pseudoscience and New Age spirituality.

Etymology of ORGONE
